Spring Planting

It was a  tough winter, but we’ve started planting!

We had to replace the distribulater on the old 9N, and bought a new carburetor  “just in case.” We took a few field trips and bought some new implements over winter, a sickle mower, our disc tiller, and so, for now, it’s running great.

Beth, the lead farmer, has burned the midnight oil planning the garden and studying up on best organic practices.

Adding the organic fertilizer that comes from a cow.

We’re starting small, prepared a quarter acre

and planted over a quarter of that this past weekend. All of those little seedling plants

are being put into the ground carefully and lovingly.

We’ve got tons of herbs, several varieties of lettuce, swiss chard, peas, broccoli, cabbage, zucchini, carrots, celery, turnips, beans, cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes, and flowers (even the edible kind for decorating your cakes!)

Soon you’ll see our new Misneach Farms label on menu items with fresh vegetables from the farm and vegetables for sale at The Pub.

Stay tuned as we see what comes out of the ground.
